Life is Good!!!!

I have a few days off so I'm sitting here enjoying a John Barleycorn Barleywine Ale made by Mad River Brewing Company (thanks Jonesy), eating a few pistachios, and Lou's Crew up 2-1 on the Brew Crew.

Barleywines are one of my favorite styles of beer and this one ranks in the top 3. Because barleywines are on the stronger side ( this ale is 9.5%), I like to sip and enjoy only two. Barleywines get their name being as strong as wines but are made from grain, instead of grapes.

Barleywines are so potent that some places limit how many you can have. Shawn Nee & I were headed to a Flyers game a while back, we stopped at a brewpub and written on a chalkboard were all the draft beers. Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale was on tap, however, they were limited to 2 per customer.

We talked the barkeep into sneaking us a few more.

Back to enjoying my vacation......

Here we go......

Cubs vs. Brewers

A 4 game series starts Monday with the Cubs up a game in the NL Central. Round 1 is Lilly vs. Sabathia.... the first time CC faces the Cubbies as a Brewer.

Tuesday is Big Z going up against Ben "Holy" Sheets. If you're looking for me, goto the Town Tavern. I'll be the guy in the Ron Santo jersey.

Brilliant!!!!

The 12th Annual Guinness Party was a success. Great music all day with TJ & Anthony and great music all night with Dino & Kuckla (Unfortunately it was Matt Kuckla, not Joe). Most people missed a late night apprearance by Phil Rossi.....thanks for stopping by.

Also, thanks to Pat McClane for the sweet shirts.

Don't worry if you missed the party yesterday, there's always next year.

Update on Cierra.....

Cierra had a blood test on Tuesday and the results were great. She had a platelet count of 210k (normal is between 150k -400k). In the past 2 months, the numbers were better than before (over 100k but under 150k). But, this is the first test since she was diagnosed with ITP that all the numbers were normal.

For those that weren't aware, Cierra was diagnosed with ITP around Easter. It's a fairly common blood disorder that occurs when healthy platelets are destroyed for no apparent reason. Mostly in children, this will go away on its own in a few months.

She's been fine throughout...you wouldn't even know anything was wrong. The Doctor's told us the first day that it would be tougher on the parents.......and they were right. Hopefully, we're on our way to putting this in the rear view mirror.

Who's funnier than Will Ferrell?

The World of Issac brings us these clips of the funniest Will Ferrell movie scenes.

Hilarious.

My personal favorite is #3.

Go Cubs Go!

At the All-Star Break, the Cubbies are tied for the best record in all of baseball.

Everyone celebrate.....even if you're only 10 years old!

El Supermano

This video was part of my inspiration for starting this blog. I e-mailed this video to so man people that I thought that there had to be an easier way.

This video is hilarious in so many ways. From the tights pulled up to his belly button to the strangely exciting look on the female hostage when told what “Spider-Man” is going to do to her.

Enjoy.

Mommy's Little Helper

Cierra feeding her brother. I wonder if they’ll get along this well in 2 years?

Welcome to my blog. I’m going to use this space to post videos, pictures, quotes, updates, etc. I'm not much of a writer so the posts will basically consist of captions the the pictures/videos I post

Comments or suggestions are welcome.

In this picture are my awesome children, Colin (9 months) & Cierra (4 years old), relaxing, watching some Noggin.
